Simple Strategies To Focus On Your Home, Your Kids, And YOU*
Spring has sprung and it is time to clean up our lives! I love to think about spring cleaning as a second chance at the New Year’s resolutions we all set back in January. First, The Kids’ Bedrooms!
Who hates tidying their kids’ bedroom? Me! But it has to be done. In my coaching practice, I advise parents that in order to accomplish this with the least amount of complaining, they need to prepare their kids in advance. For example, a week before, Mom and Dad need to say to their child over and over “Don’t forget, on Saturday we are going to clean your bedroom. It will take at least an hour. But, when we are finished we will all go out to the movies.” The child knows what to expect, has a goal to work toward, and Mom and Dad aren’t doing all of the work. The bonus is that you are also teaching your child responsibility.
